Have you ever looked at something happening in your life and thought: “This isn’t fair.”
Maybe you’re always the one giving more, someone received an opportunity you felt you deserved. Maybe you’re putting so much into a relationship, your work or your family, yet you’re not receiving the same energy in return. We often associate balance with fairness.
If I give 50, you should give 50.
If I treat you well, you should treat me well.
If I work hard, I should receive the result I expect.
But what if balance is not always about making the outside world equal? Over the years, one thing I’ve observed through working with people, sound and the body is that what happens outside us and what it activates inside us are not always the same thing. Sometimes something genuinely isn’t fair but sometimes the reason it affects us so deeply is because the present situation has touched something much older inside.
Perhaps:
“Nobody sees what I do.”
“Why am I always the one giving?”
“Why am I never chosen?”
“Why do I have to work harder than everyone else?”
That feeling of lack may not have started today. It may come from experiences much earlier in life, times when we didn’t feel sufficiently seen, secure, valued or heard. And when something happening today touches that old pattern, our response can become much bigger than the event itself.
The outside world becomes the trigger, the inside world tells us why.
September brings us the equinox, the astronomical point when the Sun crosses Earth’s equatorial plane, traditionally associated with the transition between seasons. Symbolically, it gives us a beautiful opportunity to reflect on light and dark, giving and receiving, movement and rest, holding on and letting go.
And this is why I don’t see balance as something we achieve once and then keep forever.
Balance is constant recalibration. Your body continually adjusts to changes in light, temperature, sound, stress, movement, sleep, food and the environment around you. You may not consciously notice every adjustment but your body does. Let me give you a very simple example. Look at a wooden table.
If I ask: “Is this table moving?”
Most people will probably laugh and say: “Of course not, Michele. It’s a table!” 😂
From what our eyes can see, they’re right. The table looks completely still.
But at a microscopic level, matter is never simply “doing nothing.” And the material itself continuously responds to its environment – temperature and moisture can cause wood to expand, contract and change over time.
Leave that same table exposed outdoors long enough and eventually those invisible interactions become visible.
The surface changes, the edges deteriorate, the wood may warp or crack…What looked completely still was actually interacting with its environment all along.
Now think about your body… your body is infinitely more responsive than a table. Every day, you’re receiving signals from:
You don’t consciously “feel” every signal but your brain and nervous system are continuously receiving, filtering and responding to information. Not feeling something consciously doesn’t mean your system isn’t responding to it and this is where frequency becomes interesting.
When life around us becomes chaotic, many of us become chaotic internally too.
Someone says something and suddenly we’re angry, a plan changes and our whole day feels ruined, someone treats us unfairly and we replay the conversation twenty times before bed.
But why can two people experience the same event and respond completely differently? Because our body and brain doesn’t respond only to what happened, it also responds according to what that experience means to us.
Our previous experiences, emotional associations, expectations and learned patterns all influence how we interpret what is happening now. This is why I often encourage people not to immediately ask: “Why did this person do this to me?”
Pause and ask another question too:
That question doesn’t excuse someone else’s behaviour, it brings your power back to you. Because you may not be able to control what happens outside but you can begin to understand what is happening inside and awareness gives you choice.
At The Sirius Sound®, we view balance not as a perfect state you reach and hold forever, but as the body’s ability to continually regulate and return towards stability.
Sound is vibration, but it is also sensory information. Your auditory system receives sound, the brain processes it, and your body may respond through changes in attention, breathing, muscle tension, emotional state and arousal.
This is why our approach to sound therapy isn’t simply:
“Play something beautiful and relax.”
Through the Sirius Biofrequency Method®, sound is structured intentionally to support regulation, awareness and reconnection between what you are experiencing mentally, emotionally and physically. Because when your system is highly activated, even a simple decision can feel enormous.
Should I stay?
Should I let it go?
Should I give more?
Should I finally stop giving?
The mind keeps swinging between two sides but sometimes you don’t need another person to give you the answer.
You need enough internal quietness to hear your own answer. That is the centre point we are working towards.
Think of balance like tuning an instrument…
a guitar doesn’t become permanently tuned because you tuned it once. Temperature changes, humidity changes, strings stretch…
The instrument is played and eventually, it needs tuning again.
Humans are the same. Life continuously moves us, Relationships move us. Responsibilities move us. Success moves us. Loss moves us. Even beautiful opportunities can move us out of balance. The goal therefore isn’t to remain perfectly centred every second of our lives, that’s unrealistic. The skill is learning to recognise when you’ve moved away from yourself and knowing how to return.
This is what I call frequency calibration.
This Full Moon, pay attention to situations where you strongly feel: “This isn’t fair.”
Don’t dismiss the feeling but don’t immediately obey it either. Become curious and ask yourself: What actually happened?
Then: What did I feel?
And finally: Does this feeling belong entirely to today, or have I felt this somewhere before?
Perhaps someone not acknowledging your contribution touches an old feeling of not being seen. Perhaps giving too much comes from believing you must be useful in order to be valued. Perhaps difficulty receiving comes from years of believing you must handle everything yourself.
Sometimes the external situation genuinely needs to change and sometimes we need to change our relationship with what the situation activates within us, often, it’s a little of both. That’s why true balance is not passive. Balance doesn’t mean tolerating everything. It doesn’t mean staying silent when a boundary needs to be expressed and it certainly doesn’t mean pretending everything is positive.
Balance means becoming regulated enough to recognise what belongs outside you, what belongs inside you, and what action is actually yours to take.
During emotionally intense periods, you may become much more aware of where your own system has moved away from balance.
You might notice yourself:
Rather than immediately labelling these experiences as good or bad, listen to them as information.
At The Sirius Sound®, we also use the concept of the biofield as part of our broader framework for understanding the relationship between the individual and their surrounding environment. Whether you relate more strongly to the language of nervous-system regulation or energetic balance, the practical question remains the same:

This month, I want to give you a very simple practice. Whenever something strongly triggers you, don’t respond immediately.
Take three slow breaths. Then ask:
1. FACT – What actually happened?
Describe it without adding assumptions.
2. FEEL – What am I feeling?
Angry? Rejected? Unappreciated? Afraid? Disappointed?
3. FAMILIAR – Where have I felt this before?
Don’t force an answer. Simply notice whether the feeling seems larger or older than the situation in front of you. For those who have your self-healing bowl, you can practise your Heart Coherence exercise and sit quietly with one question: “What would balance choose here?”, then listen to the answer.
This is also what we’ll explore together during our September Full Moon Sound Alignment on 24 September.
This month isn’t about chasing another “high vibration.” It’s about learning to recognise your own centre point. Through guided reflection and structured sound, we’ll explore where you may be over-giving, over-holding, overthinking or simply carrying something that your body is ready to put down.
We’ll create the space to listen together.

The older I get, the more I realise that balance and fairness are not always the same thing. There will be moments when we give more, moments when we receive more, moments when life doesn’t happen according to the equation we created in our head.
And yes, sometimes something truly isn’t fair but before I allow the outside situation to completely determine my inside world, I’ve learnt to ask myself:
“Michele, what is this actually touching inside you?”
That question has taught me a lot because sometimes the person standing in front of us isn’t the whole problem. They’ve simply pressed a button that was already there and perhaps that’s why balance isn’t about making everything around us behave exactly the way we want.
It’s about knowing ourselves well enough that when the world becomes noisy, we don’t completely lose our own signal.
Sometimes there is simply too much noise around it. So, quiet the noise, listen to your body, notice what is yours and what isn’t and give yourself enough space for the answer to emerge.
Because when you return to yourself, the next step often becomes much clearer.
With love,
Michele Chong
